We use all natural, plant-based shampoos. We have several different formulas based on each individual pet’s needs. These include Hypo-allergenic (sensitive skin), Tea Tree (medicated) and a De-Shedding formula. These shampoos are gentle and non-toxic, I can use my “grey water” to water my lawn!
If your pet has a special shampoo-just let me know we will use that.
Yes! The Furry Friends Mobile Salon is climate controlled: heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer. There are only two times we will not groom, if the temperature is below 10 degrees or the snow fall makes driving dangerous. Extreme cold temperatures take a toll on the water lines and it’s just not fair to our furry friends.
We use our own water tank and generator to heat the water to groom your pet. We do NOT need to plug into your home’s electricity. Our clients don’t have to supply anything–just your pet! Furry Friends Mobile Grooming has a 50 gallon freshwater tank and a 50 gallon grey water tank. We also have a water heater, air conditioning and heat. We are a full-service pet salon on wheels.
The best way to maintain your dogs coat between grooms is to brush it every couple of days. After brushing, it is important to make sure that you get all the way to the skin. The best way to do that is to use a comb from the skin out. The coat type, as well as the length will help you determine how often this needs to be done. Once the hair is severely matted, shaving the coat off is the only humane remedy.
Getting your dog groomed regularly can prevent many problems and keep your dog healthy and comfortable. It will prevent excessive matting, toe nails getting too long etc. The recommended 4-6 weeks is best for full grooms and many people opt for a simple bath and brush out in between full grooms.
We want to make sure your animal is getting the highest quality service to look their best. Different breeds, coats, conditions, temperament, expected length of groom, and other factors contribute to the pricing. As such we do have a starting price range for different size animals. Each groom is unique, and we can provide you with an estimate at the time of booking. Upon inspection of your pet, we will provide you with a final estimate.
Oh no! Fleas are pesky critters. There are a few options available if your animals have fleas. Depending on the amount of fleas we can still groom your animal, but it will be extra charge since we have to sanitize the van prior to any other appointments that day to make sure we aren’t spreading fleas to other pets. Animals with excessive fleas may be refused service until the problem is cleared up, but the client will be billed a visit charge at the time of their rescheduled groom. No future services will be provided until the fee is paid. The situation will vary on a case by case basis but we will make sure to provide you the best recommendations for taking care of the problem.
Sadly as much as your pet might love to have you in there, it is an insurance liability for us. But we would be happy to show you our vehicle before grooming your pet.
Mats are large clumps of fur that can feel stiff and hard. They can be painful for the animal and are unhealthy. Depending on the condition and type of mat we may be able to brush them out but if the animal has severe mats we will have to shave and start over. There will be a handling fee for excessive matting.
No. For safety reasons, we can only groom one pet in the van at one time. There is a lot of sharp equipment and other potential hazards. We will get the next pet once the first pet’s groom is complete.
No, that is a procedure that should be done by a vet! If not done correctly it can be a serious problem.

A complete grooming can take from 1.5 to 3 hours depending of the size, breed, and condition of the dog. Every pet is different. Times are adjusted to meet the needs of the pet.
Appointments are scheduled on a first-come/first-serve basis and can be made via voicemail, text, email, or on this website. Please keep in mind that it will take time to respond to scheduling requests and that calls are not answered during grooming appointments.
